
Sally completed a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology at Queen’s University in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She has worked in a number of academic and industrial environments, all in the molecular field, doing laboratory testing. In 2012, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research at Humber College, where she completed an internship with the Soft Tissue Sarcoma Group at Mount Sinai. Her role has continued to expand and includes special focus on Soft Tissue Sarcoma research. She is involved with the team’s participation at annual meetings of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS) and has presented at several national and international conferences.

Anthony has been a member of the sarcoma team at Princess Margaret/MSH for 25 years. He manages the clinical research initiative for the Musculoskeletal Oncology Unit, which includes a prospective clinical and functional outcomes database for the extremity tumour population, along with the correlative tumour bank. He is very interested in outcomes following treatment of extremity soft tissue sarcoma (STS) with radiotherapy and surgery. He obtained his MSc through the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto.

Raghda joined the Sarcoma team in April 2015. She holds a Medical Degree and received her Master of Science degree from England, UK. Raghda’s research experience spans over 15 years with expertise in clinical research, research analytics, health report, quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Raghda is a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) and recently earned the Certificate of Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).

Nicole joined the Sarcoma team in May 2017 and has more than five years of clinical research experience, most recently from the Uro-Oncology Research Team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Nicole is a Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) who completed her Undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario and her Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research from McMaster University.

Harini Suraweera joined the sarcoma team in August 2018, having had extensive oncology clinical research experience. Her last assignment was working at Sunnybrook Hospital in the Breast / Head & Neck Cancer site groups. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Physics from Ryerson University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Western Ontario with a post graduate diploma in Clinical Research from Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences at UHN.

Kupere Pathmanathan joined the Sarcoma team in April 2019, having over two years of clinical research experience, with recent experience working in the Pharmaceutical/Phase 1 clinical trials industry. Kupere has an Honours Bachelor degree in Health Science from the University of Toronto and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research from Michener Institute of Education at UHN.

Wendy Johnston joined our Sarcoma research team in 2018. She has a PhD in Nutrition from the University of Guelph, and completed post-doctoral research training at McGill University and the University of Toronto. Wendy brings extensive experience in basic research, with expertise in the molecular biology of memory and learning, cell matrix control of gene expression during cell division, differentiation, and migration, and data mining to identify transcripts that predict prostate cancer. She is excited to apply her basic research skills to soft tissue sarcoma clinical research.

Jahnusha is the newest member of our Sarcoma research team. With a Bachelor’s of Health Sciences and a Master’s of Arts, she brings a new perspective to patient care and support. With her research focused on music-based interventions within healthcare, Jahnusha hopes to share her passion with other patients. While helping with research, she will also be updating our Toronto Sarcoma website, to make it more patient friendly and easier to navigate.
